Tatiana Ades is an academic advisor in the adult literacy program at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, CUNY, where she helps support adult students taking high school equivalency and ESL classes. She has a BA in English and women, gender, & sexuality studies and is pursuing a MA in American Studies and certificate in Interactive Technology & Pedagogy at the Graduate Center, CUNY. Raised by a single mother who received her GED in NY State in 1992, Tatiana is attuned to the intergenerational economic, social, and educational benefits of supporting adult literacy students. As a first-generation college graduate, she is particularly passionate about supporting underserved students, including LGBTQ and gender non-conforming students, students who were previously incarcerated, and students with disabilities in their educational journeys towards college.
